Outlaw WIP

The freaky part is this guy is starting to really look like my grandpa's twin....just meaner.....LOTS meaner...

I guess that would make him his....evil....twin?

Anyway, my biggest job right now is still pushing and separating the values right now so I can print it. It's printing really dark in comparison to what I see on screen. Can't say my monitor and my printer communicate very well. :)

Works in Progress and Other Art

Hopefully I'll manage to finish these before this weekend when things get really busy.

Played a little Okami this week. I plan on painting this up eventually, I just have to figure out how to get the look I want with an older version of photoshop.

Then worked a little on my cultures post for the Ynot artblog. Still deciding on final patterns and colors, but I like how the lines turned out for the most part minus a few tweaks, touch-ups, and other issues that'll be fixed in the final.

Then I scanned in my outlaw drawing. It was penciled and shaded on blank white computer paper. Technology loves me, the end.

Also, new character sheet. I've been browsing some Welsh books, some mythology books, and even some, you guessed it, Welsh mythology books. I've got a fun short story in the works that I want to try illustrating, we'll see how it works though. I need to figure out the human characters first among other things first. My favorite part is her feathered 'hand' tail. A weird drawing in my sketchbook inspired it when two completely unrelated drawings connected through implied lines. Freaky, but in a good way.

Drawing and 2-D Design

Apparently I've been in a posting mood the past couple of days.  Needless to say I like the stuff in my previous posts more since they're more recent, but I haven't really had too much time to really sit down and draw something new.  So, being too burnt out with finals and animation applications, I decided to raid my art archives again for something to post.

Here's some other stuff from last semester, mostly drawing and 2D design assignments. I really wish I had some of my landscapes from high school out here, but transporting them on an airplane would be a nightmare...

Fun stuff perspective.  I had to end up taking out a lot of what I had planned to put in on this one because of the assignments time constraints.  I love the details in the wood, I only wish it would have photographed better, but all I had was a simple point and shoot camera at the time.

Value assignment.  I like how the top one turned out, merely because it looks a little like one of my favorite artists styles.  Anyone care to guess who? Also, I really wish graphite photographed better.  These are a little blurry, but as it is currently raining I don't intend on taking them outside to reshoot just now....

Line assignment, not much to say here other than I like the relationship between the countours at the bottom and the stippling/cross hatching up top.

Atmospheric perspective on small objects is tough, but fun.  My favorite thing about these seed pods was that they look like a bird-snake monster of sorts.

Fun twisty design.  The assignment was to make 1000 marks....I have a LOT more than 1000 marks. 

Camera Happy

And other such ramblings.

Okay, so my roommate has an awesome digital camera that she let me borrow for my photography class, and let's just say I got a little carried away with it.  Can you blame me?  Taking pictures is fun!  Also, I managed to sneak in a few pictures of my figure drawings from class.  I definitely got some really funny looks while I was taking them. Makes me wish I could have drawn the reactions at the same time.  Anyway, here's the fun stuff!

  

These figure drawings turned out the best in that particular pad.   My favorites are definitely the bottom three I think.  

Goal for this week: finish more faces/hands/feet.

Also, here are some photos from my photography class. I wish I hadn't taken them when it was overcast, but with a little photoshop magic they don't really look it.  I hope.

  I had far too much fun with little yellow buttons....

And of course this little guy.  Don't you think the fire hydrant looks like a robot trying to give someone a hug?

Then again, I've been told I have a overactive imagination.....

Anyway, that's about it for today.
